As an ADHD woman entrepreneur, balancing our business and personal lives in a way that feels fulfilling and gives us a sense of purpose can be our biggest challenge. Do any of these sound familiar to you?
You struggle to fall and stay asleep, and when you wake in the night your brain jumps straight into action. As a result you get fragmented, poor-quality sleep that leaves you feeling tired and sluggish in the morning.
You can’t think straight during the day, and you feel overwhelmed, frustrated, and inadequate because you can’t actually get things done, leading to frustration and anxiety.
You CRAVE regularity in your daily life so you can get organised without the overwhelm, but when you try to create routines they never seem to stick, and they feel boring and restrictive anyway.
I’ve been there. I used to struggle to relax in the evening and would go to bed late, feeling unsatisfied with an overactive mind and waking up to an alarm feeling sluggish. I’d muddle through the day feeling mounting anxiety and overwhelm as I tried to remember even the basic daily things I needed to do. As a result, I struggled to prioritise and actually take action to get things done. My business wasn’t going anywhere and I felt frustrated with myself for all the things I wasn’t doing, or wasn’t doing well enough.
It was only when I started to develop my own Reiki practice and Daily Rhythm that things started to change. I became intentional about how I spent my evenings, giving myself proper time and space to wind down before bed, and this shift began to transform my entire day. I went to bed feeling relaxed and ready to sleep, and woke up naturally, feeling refreshed, enthusiastic and with a deeper sense of purpose.
By creating more regularity in my daily life I replaced anxiety with clarity and decisive action. I saw real progress in my business and felt a renewed passion for it, while also taking care of everything else I wanted and needed to do, like spending time with my dog and handling daily tasks like the washing up. Life became more fulfilling as I found the balance between getting things done and having proper, restorative relaxation time.
This is what I can help you achieve in my 6 week Reiki program. Here’s how we can make that happen.
Step 1: Calming Your Busy Brain
Reiki is deeply relaxing, allowing your mind and body to reach a calm state. This helps reduce the busyness going on in your mind, and can therefore lessen the overwhelm and anxiety you feel from having so many thoughts in your head. As your mind starts to feel calmer, sleep comes more easily, and Reiki can very quickly help to improve the quality of your sleep too. Better sleep and a calmer mind can help you to feel more relaxed and energised and less stressed, giving you more clarity and purpose as you move through the day. You may start to notice that daily tasks feel a little more manageable than they were before.
At this stage we’re focusing on calming the mind and calming the nervous system, which is the first step to creating a life and business that gives you the peace and fulfillment you want as an entrepreneur.
Step 2: Finding Inner Balance
With a relaxed mind and body, Reiki can go deeper, helping you to feel more at peace. Combined with continued improvements in your sleep, this can help you move from feeling frustrated and judgemental towards yourself to feeling more accepting and forgiving. As a result, you may start to adjust the expectations you put on yourself - maybe rather than trying to hoover the whole house at once you do one room per day - keeping it realistic and still feeling good.
This inner peace can help us to zoom out from all the external stuff that feels overwhelming - from daily tasks to that text you need to send to that thing you promised you’d do for someone - and zoom in our internal selves to feel more calm, centred and grounded.
At this stage we’re turning down the volume on the busyness of what’s going on in your life so you can connect with your core peaceful nature. This becomes more easily accessible as we continue with Reiki and better sleep leaves you feeling more rested. You may find yourself responding to others with more calmness and clarity in stressful situations, easing tension and strain in relationships.
Step 3: Gaining Clarity, Laying Foundations and Creating Your Daily Rhythm
In this step you will develop your unique Daily Rhythm. This is about placing and grouping things together in windows of time throughout your day where they feel good to YOU, according to your energy levels and focus. Want to exercise but it doesn’t work in the morning? Maybe it works in the hour or so before cooking dinner. Never remember to fill your dog’s water bowl? (I know!) Let’s slot it in with making breakfast.
A Daily Rhythm introduces organisation and a sense of peace and clarity into your day without it feeling like a rigid routine. The real magic happens when you combine this with feeling well-rested after a good night’s sleep - you start to take action every day instead of being stuck in procrastination and anxiety.
As Reiki continues to support you in becoming more centred and grounded you’ll gain greater clarity and focus to choose how you live from day to day and actually make it happen. It also helps you to find easier ways to handle challenges and get the more difficult stuff done without feeling overwhelmed, stuck and anxious.
With your new Daily Rhythm you’ll find more regularity in your life, feeling much calmer, more grounded and in control. This makes it easier to prioritise what’s important to you, whether that’s meditation, journaling, going for a walk or relaxing with your family in the evening. As Reiki continues to help you feel more energised and engaged in life, with better sleep, you’ll be able to enjoy these things more.
Step 4: Finding Your Inner Power
The clarity, headspace and inner peace we’ve developed so far helps to unstick you from analysis paralysis and connect to your inner power. Moving through life from this place empowers you to make decisions that align with how you want to live life and run your business and to take the actions, big and small, to make that a reality.
With newfound clarity and organisation in your day you can access the motivation and focus to actually want to get stuff done and work through challenges. Business tasks feel more manageable, so you’ll be more productive and feel a sense of achievement and fulfillment, having more time and energy to move your business in the direction you want it to go.
We will revisit and make any adjustments to your Daily Rhythm at the end of the program. It will continue to evolve with you over time, further supporting the better sleep patterns and improved sleep you’ve established through this program. This tool will help you fit your business around other commitments, setting empowered boundaries so you can prioritise what matters alongside essential daily tasks, from self-care, physical and mental health, to being there for family, to time for your passions. You will find it easier to look after yourself and your home better, and connect with loved ones at a deeper level.
Being connected to and living from your inner power means you can enjoy the flexibility and freedom of being your own boss. With work contained within your working hours you will feel more relaxed, energised and engaged in the rest of your day, able to enjoy time doing what you love and being with friends and family. The bottom line? A happier, more peaceful you.
